Defensive Driving Course – The Convenient Way!
5th December 2008
Anyone can do a defensive driving course. All you need is access to a computer and most of us have one at home. The convenience of an online driving course is you can learn to be a safer driver and how to protect yourself and your family from the comfort of your own home. So why do a defensive driving course? There are lots of reasons but the best one is just because you want to be a safer driver and understand your obligations better while behind the wheel of a motor vehicle.
Some people taka a defensive driving course to escape a moving traffic violation or to get a discount on their car insurance. But the point of a defensive driving course is to reduce the amount of accidents and deaths on our roads. It teaches you better ways to respond in dangerous situations and conditions. And, because you are better equipped with the skills and knowledge of the latest road laws and regulations, you are confident in your abilities and make better decisions and have better reactions in dangerous situations.
Courses vary in duration from between 4 and 8 hours; it depends where you live and the requirements of that state and the court. Most courses have short, multiple choice quizzes at the end of each module to test your knowledge. At the end of the course you take a full exam with questions from all the modules. When you pass the exam, which is usually 80 % or higher, you are issued with a certificate.
There are many ways to complete a defensive driving course – online or the old fashioned way, in a classroom. With the busy lives we all lead, online courses are becoming more popular. They offer convenient, self-paced learning which is fun and invaluable for the rest of your life. Whereas travelling to a classroom situation time may become an issue and any class can only move as quickly as the slowest student.
With the online option available it makes more sense to save you time and money by going online in the comfort of your own home. It does not matter why or how you upgrade your driving skills, it can only be a positive thing for you and your family. The result is you are a safer driver, and have more confidence handling difficult road situations proactively.
