In Illinois, if you are going to plead guilty to your traffic ticket, you simply mail in your payment with the ticket. You should get your license back within a week or so by mail. Since this is your second violation within your “court supervision” period, you may be dinged for the first offense and this new offense. (A stipulation of court supervision and the privilege of taking the defensive driving course is that you will not be ticketed again within 180 days for the same violation. The “conviction” will not be counted towards your driving record if you follow those rules. If you don’t, then your previous conviction stands and your new one – so two (2) hits against your license.
